A “Yes” vote supports continuing publication of school board minutes in the district’s official newspaper. The estimated annual cost of publication is approximately $2,000.

3. Proposition Measure No. 1

Shall the size of the Montpelier School Board be reduced from seven (7) members to five (5) members beginning with the 2027 election?

In April 2025, the school board responded to a petition received, requesting a change from 7 board members to 5 board members.  Due to  timing and setting a special election, a motion was made to have the proposition placed on the 2026 election ballot.

If approved, the reduction would occur in accordance with NDCC 15.1-09.1-06. Existing board members would serve out their current terms until the approved board size is reached.

A “Yes” vote supports reducing the school board from seven members to five members.

A “No” vote opposes reducing the school board from seven members to five members.

3. Shall Montpelier Public School Board move from 7 to 5 persons, beginning with the 2027 election?
